Bringing a touch of Indian-inspired flair to your table, this salad is a celebration of flavors and colors that beautifully complement each other. While it might not be traditional Indian cuisine, it carries the essence of those aromatic spices and blends them into a refreshing salad.

The Curry Dressing

Is the absolute star of this salad! Take a moment and imagine the brightness of lemon juice and rice vinegar harmonizing with the earthiness of curry powder and an array of spices. With a base of roasted tahini and a dash of maple syrup for balance, this dressing bridges the gap between vibrancy and depth.

The Secret to This Salad!

The magic happens as chickpeas mingle with the curry dressing and marinate to perfection. They soak up the zesty flavors, becoming tender little bites of goodness.

Crafting this colorful layered salad is a breeze. Begin with the dressing, letting it fill the base of your canister with deliciousness. Then, layer in the ingredients one by one, starting with chickpeas and onions. This technique allows them to marinate and infuse every bite with the delightful curry essence and flavor, while the rest of the ingredients stay perfectly fresh and crisp.

How to Serve this Curry Chickpea Layered Salad

When it’s time to serve, a simple flip of the canister transforms the layers into a vibrant work of art. The contrast of textures and flavors – from the tender chickpeas to the crunchy veggies – creates a symphony that will dazzle your palate.

For the best flavor experience, allow the salad to rest for 24-48 hours. This gives the chickpeas ample time to absorb the dressing’s rich flavors. Whether you’re planning a gathering or just looking to indulge yourself, this salad has you covered.

Amazing! What a brilliant idea. When I saw it online I decided I was going to make it for my bridge clubs prizegiving and Christmas party. Well I think everyone commented on it and many asked for the recipe! I found the exact same container at our local supermarket, only thing it ends up making a very large amount of salad once turned out and there were over 30 members and only half eaten so I think a smaller container would have been sufficient. Will definitely be making again but in a smaller container.

LOVE this salad. I made it for an Engagement party and multiple people asked me for the recipes. It is packed with flavor and everyone loved the “crunch.”

Love love love this salad. This is an amazing recipe to make ahead of time. The chickpeas really absorbed all the flavors from dressing and tasted amazing the next day. I was so worried about the veggies getting soggy but they stayed fresh and crunchy despite making a day before my work potluck. Thank you so much for this salad recipe, was a big hit in our potluck.

    1. Hey Sravani, I am so happy that you enjoyed the salad and it was such a hit at the potluck!! I truly love the fact that this salad stays so well until ready to serve, it is such a time saver!

Thanks for the recipe. This is the second one I’ve made. Took too potluck and a fair bit of it disappeared. A couple of people asked for the recipe. There are other layers salad recipes I want to try, and if it’s just for home, I’ll try a quarter recipe. Yum!

I used cranraisins instead of regular, because I love them! 😊

Delicious, but made way too much for my group. How long will it last in the refrigerator and would it freeze or be too watery after thawing?

    1. Hi Claudia! It is definitely a great salad for a large group. Luckily, even after flipping/tossing it will hold up really well in the fridge for a bout 5-6 days! I would not recommend freezing.

This salad is AMAZING!! I got to make it ahead of time, so that was great for getting ready for a party 2 hours from my home. It didn’t get soggy at all & was absolutely delicious! Rave reviews from EVERYONE at the party!!
And the oh’s and Ah’s when I served it were very flattering (though we know who deserves the credit!) I shared the recipe link with everyone!

  10. Is the roasted tahini necesary…having trouble finiding? Any substitutes recommended? Also where did you get the low flat salad bowl?
