Ingredients
- 2 cups plain unsweetened soy milk
- 2 tbsp raw unsweetened cacao powder
- 3 tbsp dairy-free bittersweet chocolate chips
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp maple syrup, monkfruit, date syrup or agave nectar
- ⅛ tsp sea salt
Optional Mix Ins
- ⅛ tsp peppermint extract, or 2 oz peppermint schnapps for a boozy hot cocoa!
Method
- Add all of the ingredients to a small saucepan and place over medium heat.
- Stir frequently and bring to a gentle boil, reducing heat immediately and stirring just until slightly thickened. About 5 minutes start to finish.
- Pour into mugs and add the optional peppermint schnapps if desired!
Notes
Any milk can be used in this recipe, but soy makes it extra creamy!
